In accordance with the loosening of restrictions on medical care, our office is open. We recognize that many medical offices have dropped mask requirements, Nonetheless, because we have many patients vulnerable to viral infections, we are still operating with great care and caution, in order to protect our patients.

What we are doing to protect you:

  • Wiping down all surfaces including waiting room furniture, door handles, exam tables, blood pressure cuffs, stethoscopes, and any other equipment that comes into contact with patients or staff, with disinfectant

  • Making hand sanitizer available for all patients to use

  • Continuing our current practice of hand washing by all staff after each patient contact

  • Wearing single-use disposable gloves for every patient contact

  • Continuing the use of a glass barrier at our front desk, and installing plexiglass over our half-wall

  • Calling each patient before his/her appointment to screen for COVID 19 symptoms

  • Spacing patient appointments throughout the day to minimize contact with other patients

  • Wearing masks at all times

  • Continuing the use of Telemedicine whenever appropriate

  • Offering same-day Telemedicine appointments to anyone denied an appointment after the screening questions

What we are requiring of you:

  • All patients must bring a mask to, and wear the mask in, the office. The mask must cover both the mouth and the nose.

  • Patients should call the office (301-345-5857) on arrival to the parking lot, and stay in their cars, until called up to the office by our staff, in order to avoid congregating in the waiting room.

  • Patients should come to the office alone whenever possible, and with no more than one assistant if necessary, to avoid crowding in the waiting room and exam rooms. Children should not come to the office

  • Patients should knock on our door on arrival, and will be greeted by a staff member who will take your temperature. You will be asked some additional screening questions, either by phone while in your car, or on arrival at our door.

  • If you have a cough, shortness of breath, fever, or muscle aches, please call the office ahead of time, even before the planned pre-visit screening. Please call also if you’ve been in contact with anyone diagnosed with COVID 19.

  • Shaking hands is prohibited.

These infection control protocols are a work in progress, and will likely be amended. We appreciate your patience and understanding while we work to help keep you healthy.
